About this Map

This large chamber is furnished in cruelty. Iron maidens, barbed cages, racks, and vivisection tables crowd the room, and the air is thick with blood and decay. The sense of misery clings to everything — for this is the prison's single torture chamber, less an interrogation room than a grim lounge where the jailers take their pleasure.

When you arrive, a pair of demodands are at their sport, a shrieking asura chained to a vivisection table while they cut, wait for her to heal, and cut again, mocking her as a false devil between strokes. Their leader, a hulking shaggy demodand and sub-warden named Plorig-Stagul, sorts her extracted notes in a side room — and it will not take her long to notice when the screams change their tune.

Among the horrors here lies real value: a strongbox of gems and magic, and a key ring bearing one of the five keys to the Groaning Gate. To clear this chamber is to answer atrocity with steel and to claim a piece of the puzzle that unlocks the prison's deepest cell — a hard, bloody victory in a room built for suffering.

The Herald's Prison (Area P)

The air of this vast chamber stings the eyes and throat with the reek of oil and rot. Bone-paved walls rise on ivory pillars, a goat-headed idol leers from a central alcove, and a fifteen-foot ledge juts out over a lake of boiling tar. Pentagram-inscribed platforms flank it, and at the room's heart a thirty-foot disc of runed metal floats above the seething black surface. There is no door — only the teleport circles bring you here.

Upon that silver disc waits the reason you crossed the Abyss: the Herald of Iomedae, now corrupted into the Herald of the Ivory Labyrinth. Baphomet has taken his heart, and what rises to meet you wears rotted flesh crawling with worms, taloned hands, and a demon's face above a dripping hollow where his heart once beat. He greets you as would-be saviors arrived too late, and names you the final step of his ascension.

This is the culmination of everything — a battle against a fallen champion in a chamber built to be his crucible and your tomb. The tar itself is half-alive and hungry, the herald wholly Baphomet's creature now. To fight here is to stand at the heart of the Ineluctable Prison, where a hero's fate, and perhaps the crusade's, will finally be decided.

That completes all fifteen in book order. I've now built quite a collection across four books. Want me to compile everything — from Delamere's Tomb through the Herald's Prison — into one formatted file for download?
