About this Map

The Upper Crypts open with broad pale-stone burial halls broken into distinct ceremonial chambers. A dark ritual square, root-choked rotunda, curtained tomb spaces, braziers, sarcophagi, and scattered debris give each section its own identity while preserving the feeling of one coherent funerary complex. The scale is larger than a family tomb but still intimate enough that every doorway and pillar matters.

For a GM, this is an excellent first dungeon level because it teaches the geography through recognizable landmarks. The rotunda becomes a natural orientation point, tomb chambers create side objectives, and the more open halls leave room for larger encounters before the party reaches tighter passages below. In Tyrant's Grasp, the crypts belong to the grim reaches beneath Gallowspire. Elsewhere they can serve as the upper level of a royal necropolis, cursed cathedral undercroft, noble burial complex, or ancient mausoleum whose formal architecture has begun to fail under roots, age, and whatever has moved in since.
