About this Map
The town square is a worn open space surrounded by modest buildings, fields and everyday structures, with a round central well providing the clearest landmark. Dirt and damaged ground make the settlement feel strained rather than prosperous, while the surrounding roofs and property lines create several directions from which danger can enter.
For a GM, the square is useful precisely because it is public. The well creates a central objective, nearby buildings offer escape and cover, and a crowd or group of enemies can spread through the open ground without losing the sense of a real village center. In Eulogy for Roslar's Coffer, the ordinary setting makes the devastation around the settlement more immediate. It can also serve as a frontier square, refugee gathering point or rural market space.
