About this Map
Hammer Rock is a broad roofless ruin spread across an overgrown enclosure. Broken room blocks, low walls and dead trees divide the grounds into pockets of cover, while a winding defensive wall and muddy approach give the site a clear perimeter. Grass and wilderness have reclaimed much of the structure without hiding its former layout.
For a GM, the map is strongest as an open-air ruin crawl. Characters can move between shattered buildings instead of following corridors, enemies can hold separate positions across the compound and the exposed approach makes scouting worthwhile. In Midwives to Death, Hammer Rock provides a bleak surface location that contrasts with the adventure's deeper crypts. It also works as a fallen fort, abandoned manor compound or battlefield ruin.
