It feels more like a contested ruin than a functioning noble castle.

For a GM, the outer walls define the encounter immediately: entry points matter, ranged positions can influence the courtyard and the broken interior gives combatants places to reposition without disappearing into a maze. In Gardens of Gallowspire, the map suits a location that has endured neglect and violence. It can also be reused as a ruined border fort, occupied excavation or fortified camp built inside older walls.
