About this Release

Straumgard is a hard northern settlement, the kind of place where snow drifts up against the longhouse walls and every roof breathes woodsmoke. This pack collects the heart of that village: the jarl's hall where power sits, the tavern where the village drinks and trades rumors, and a craftsman's hut tucked among the timber and frozen mud. They share a palette — snow-laced ground, log-and-thatch construction, central firepits throwing orange light across plank floors — and they slot together as the social map of a single community. Drop them into a Norse-flavored campaign as a base of operations, a string of investigation scenes, or the staging ground for a raid that turns the whole village against the party. Sightlines indoors are short and broken by furniture and partition walls, so interior fights here are close, chaotic, and lit by flame.

Straumgard Jarl House is the seat of authority — a broad longhouse built around a long central firepit, flanked by a high table at the head of the hall, private bedchambers down both wings, and a pantry and store-room where supplies and a glint of treasure are kept. Antlers and pelts mark it as a place of standing, and the open central hall is the natural stage for an audience, a feast gone wrong, or a confrontation with the jarl. The wings give defenders and fugitives somewhere to retreat, while the long hearth splits the main room down the middle — use it as both a hazard and a backdrop for a tense parley.

The Stoneflask is the village tavern, a snug timber building warmed by two stone hearths and stocked with the clutter of a working drinkhouse: shelves of bottles and brewing gear, sleeping quarters off to one side, and tables laid out for the regulars. Racks of colorful potions or wares add a splash of intrigue to the back room. It's the perfect spot for the campaign's connective tissue — overheard plots, a brawl, a meeting with a contact — and the cramped, furniture-choked layout makes any fight that breaks out here a scramble for cover and footing.

The Frosted Dragon Horn is a larger two-story establishment delivered across two levels. The 1st Floor is the public room: an L-shaped taproom with a curved bar, scattered drinking tables, a stone hearth, and a side larder packed with barrels and provisions — a busier, rowdier counterpart to the Stoneflask, good for crowd scenes and a tavern that needs room to hold a real audience. The 2nd Floor is the lodging above, a row of fur-draped beds and sleeping berths under a sloped thatch roof, with a frozen pond and an overturned cart out in the snow nearby. Run the upper floor as the quiet, vulnerable counterpart to the noise below — where a guest gets robbed in the night, an ambush waits behind a curtain, or the party holes up while trouble gathers downstairs. Together the two floors let you stage a fight that moves vertically, defenders above and attackers pushing up from the bar.
