About this Map

The Thassilonian Laboratories are built around a striking circular and maze-like arrangement of ancient rooms. Curving corridors and repeated geometric sections make the complex difficult to read from a single doorway, while larger chambers provide clear destinations within the pattern. The architecture feels experimental and deliberately unnatural compared with ordinary cellars or sewers.

This layout is useful for a GM who wants exploration to matter without relying on a sprawling random maze. Characters can lose sight of one another around the curves, threats can move between adjacent sections and the central spaces naturally become places for experiments, guardians or discoveries. In Shards of Sin, the laboratories connect the campaign's present-day investigation to Magnimar's Thassilonian past. They can also serve as an arcane research site, buried magical facility or ancient puzzle complex.
