About this Map
The Hall of Reason is built on broad corridors, tall chambers and an unusual approach to light. Permanent fixtures are largely absent; instead, magical motes provide illumination when needed, while the Gardens of Enlightenment introduce glowing fountains and softer light within a cultivated interior space. The twenty-foot ceilings and generous passages give the complex an airy scale despite the surrounding red stone.
Several connected areas let the map move between austere halls and the more organic garden at its center. That contrast gives a GM useful visual landmarks and prevents a large institutional interior from becoming a repetition of identical rooms. In Strength of Thousands: Doorway to the Red Star, the architecture reflects the contemplatives who use the hall. Elsewhere, it works as a psionic monastery, alien academy or philosophical temple where sparse furnishings, open movement and magical illumination create a distinctly different atmosphere from a conventional wizard's school.
