Gourd Fortress turns a rotting pumpkin into a fortified settlement at miniature scale. The thick rind forms the high ground beneath improvised walls and battlements, while the uneven organic surface creates routes and edges that no conventional castle would have. What would normally be kitchen waste becomes a defensible hill, and the decay around it gives the site an unstable, temporary quality.

In Strength of Thousands: Shadows of the Ancients, the scale of the environment is part of the encounter. A GM can use the raised fortress as a clear objective, force characters to approach across exposed ground and let the makeshift defenses provide cover once the fighting reaches the top. Outside the Adventure Path, it works for any shrinking scenario or tiny civilization where familiar objects have been repurposed into architecture.
