About this Map
The Carnivorous Gardens turn lush botanical growth into the encounter terrain itself. Dense planting surrounds the usable paths and open pockets, while predatory flora gives the garden an immediate threat that belongs naturally to the scenery instead of appearing on top of it. The presence of oozes in the original Strength of Thousands encounter adds another kind of hazard, making the space feel like an ecosystem that has slipped out of control.
For a GM, the map rewards careful positioning. Thick vegetation narrows approaches, large plants can conceal danger until characters are close, and the distinction between decorative greenery and hostile growth keeps exploration tense even before initiative is rolled. In Spoken on the Song Wind, the garden works as a memorable magical-botanical problem; elsewhere it can become an alchemist's failed greenhouse, a druidic preserve gone feral or any enclosed garden where the plants are no longer content to remain scenery.
