About this Map
Despoiler's Deep carries Rusthenge beneath the surface, turning the descent into a layered underground complex of natural caverns, worked passages, ritual spaces, and engineered chambers. Narrow tunnels feed into broader rooms where stone platforms, machinery, pools, and broken spans interrupt the floor plan, creating a dungeon that shifts constantly between cramped movement and dangerous open ground. The contrast between raw cave walls and deliberate construction makes the location feel excavated, occupied, and altered over time rather than carved as a simple sequence of rooms.
For a GM, the changing geometry is the map's greatest strength. Chokepoints can isolate characters from one another, platforms and bridges create exposed approaches, and the larger chambers provide room for encounters that need movement instead of static corridor fighting. Despoiler's Deep works naturally as part of Rusthenge, but it can also serve as a drowned cult complex, forgotten skymetal excavation, subterranean laboratory, or any dungeon where ancient construction has been forced into older stone.
