About this Map
Mammoth-Fall Thickets are built around the colossal remains of a fallen beast lying among dense vegetation. Massive bones and tusks break the forest floor into unusual lanes, while roots, shrubs, and uneven ground have begun to grow around and through the carcass. The skeleton is not decorative background; it is the defining terrain feature of the map.
For a GM, the bones create natural cover, narrow passages, and elevated or enclosed spaces that make even a simple wilderness fight feel distinct. Small creatures can hide among the remains, larger predators can claim the carcass as territory, and characters may have reasons to search the bones for trophies, clues, or signs of what killed the animal. The location works equally well as a hunting ground, druidic landmark, scavenger site, monster den, or strange roadside discovery. It is an easy way to make an otherwise ordinary forest encounter memorable without forcing a specific plot onto the scene.
