About this Map

The Old Sycamore is more than a landmark on the surface. Beneath the ancient tree lies a compact network of earthen caverns and timber-reinforced chambers, with rough tunnels bending around roots, debris, makeshift fortifications, and the clutter of creatures that have claimed the space as a home. The cramped underground layout creates a sharp contrast with the open wilderness above.

In Kingmaker, the Old Sycamore is tied to the conflict between the mitflits beneath the tree and the nearby kobolds, turning this small dungeon into an important early piece of the Stolen Lands. The battlemap supports that story well: tight passages favor defenders, rooms are small enough that doorways matter, and branching routes let scouts or fleeing enemies disappear quickly. A GM can also lift it out of the campaign as a fey burrow, gremlin nest, root cellar complex, or hidden lair beneath a distinctive old tree. It is compact enough for a single session while still offering more choices than a straight cave.
