About this Map
Sanctum of the Cleansed is a formal stone complex built around broad halls, sarcophagi, side chambers, and carefully ordered architecture. Pale flagstones and symmetrical spaces give it a deliberate ceremonial quality, while age, damage, and scattered debris prevent it from feeling pristine. The map reads immediately as a sacred or funerary site rather than an ordinary dungeon.
That clarity makes it easy for a GM to use. The central halls provide open ground for dramatic confrontations, side rooms create places for investigation or hidden threats, and the tomb-like chambers allow encounters to build around remains, relics, or rituals without requiring the location to be heavily rewritten. In Kingmaker's companion material, the sanctum belongs among the region's more mysterious sacred sites. Outside that context it can function as a purification temple, ancestral crypt, sealed monastery, or forgotten holy complex. The architecture keeps the map solemn and readable while still providing enough divisions for a full dungeon sequence.
