About this Map
M'Botuu Caves form a branching underground complex where natural tunnels connect several occupied chambers. Wooden platforms, cages and makeshift structures have been fitted into the rock, giving the caves the character of a working lair rather than an empty natural formation. Different pockets of the complex sit at distinct heights and widths, creating a route that repeatedly opens and contracts as explorers move through it.
The cages and platforms provide immediate encounter objectives: prisoners, guards or supplies can be separated from the main fighting space, while narrow passages make reinforcement and retreat difficult. For Kingmaker, the caves work as a substantial wilderness location that can support more than a single combat. A GM can use the same layout for infiltration, rescue, negotiation or a room-by-room assault without inventing additional structure around the map.
