Beneath Candlemere's ruined structure lies a cramped stone basement of broken corridors, rubble-choked rooms and surviving masonry. The layout feels partly collapsed rather than purpose-built as a dungeon: walls end unevenly, debris interrupts routes and dark side spaces create pockets where visibility can vanish after only a few steps.

The basement is useful for a close investigation below the more exposed island surface. Narrow connections create natural choke points, while the damaged rooms give hidden threats and discoveries places to sit without requiring elaborate furnishing. In Kingmaker, it extends Candlemere downward and makes the island ruin feel like the remnant of something larger. Outside that context, it functions equally well as a buried cellar, ruined crypt or forgotten foundation beneath an isolated tower.
