About this Map
Highbough Hunter's Sanctum is suspended high in the forest canopy, centered on a broad circular wooden platform connected to several directions by narrow rope bridges. A more enclosed inner section holds trophies, carved furnishings, and an idol-like focal point, while the surrounding bridges keep the entire site exposed to height and open air.
For a GM, the bridges define the encounter. Anyone controlling them controls access to the central platform, ranged attackers have long lanes across open gaps, and forced movement carries consequences far beyond losing a few feet of position. The inner sanctum provides a defensible objective once characters reach the center, while the multiple approaches prevent the map from becoming a single-file assault. Highbough Hunter's Sanctum can be a treetop hunter lodge, druidic outpost, forest cult shrine, elven watch platform, or the lair of a creature that prefers its enemies to fight dozens of feet above the ground.
