The market furniture breaks the plaza into narrow lanes and blind corners, turning what would otherwise be open cobbles into a surprisingly complex encounter space.

For a GM, the map is excellent for chases and public confrontations. A fleeing thief can cut between stalls, overturned carts can become instant cover and bystanders can make a straightforward pursuit much harder to control. The square also works perfectly well without combat as a place for shopping, rumor gathering, street performances or meetings hidden inside a crowd. Its compact design makes Hawkers' Square easy to drop into almost any dense town or city district.
