Snow blankets the woodland and softens the edges of a winding depression surrounded by frost-covered trees. Dense fangberry bushes remain clustered within the hollow, their dark branches forming heavy masses against the white ground, while exposed stones and tree stumps mark the safer terrain above.
The seasonal version creates a colder and more exposed approach to the same dangerous gathering site. Snowy paths curve around the thicket, but anyone entering the central growth must contend with limited visibility and tightly packed vegetation. It works well for a winter forage, an ambush beneath frozen branches, or a creature’s hidden woodland nest.
