The Burgomaster's Mansion is a substantial Vallaki residence arranged for both public authority and private family life. Reception and gathering rooms occupy the more formal parts of the house, while bedrooms, studies, service spaces and connecting corridors fill out the rest of the multi-room interior. The architecture gives visitors a clear sense of moving from respectable public areas into spaces they are not necessarily meant to enter.

At the table, that division is ideal for investigation. Characters can attend a legitimate meeting, slip away into side rooms, search upstairs or become trapped in narrow corridors once their presence is noticed. Doors and stairs keep sight lines short, so a large building can still produce tense close-range encounters. In Curse of Strahd, the mansion belongs to Vallaki's political landscape; elsewhere it can function as a mayoral residence, wealthy townhouse or provincial manor where official business and private secrets occupy the same roof.
