FROG POND

Tucked away in a gentle hollow of the wilderness lies the Frog Pond — a calm, shallow basin where water lilies float, reeds sway, and croaking voices rise in constant chorus beneath the open sky.

In summer, the pond teems with life. Frogs of all sizes lounge on flat stones and bask in the shallows, while dragonflies dart over the surface. Ripples stretch lazily across the water, and the muddy banks bear prints — small and webbed — that speak of more than just wildlife. The surrounding grass is tall and soft, interrupted by flat stones and shaded alcoves that invite rest… or concealment.

In winter, the pond freezes over in a glassy sheen, snow dusting its rim and muting the land into silence. But even beneath the ice, something stirs — as if the pond itself holds its breath, waiting for spring… or trespassers.

Charming and peaceful on the surface, Frog Pond may serve as a place of quiet reprieve — or as the perfect trap. After all, not every frog is harmless… and not every splash is from something small.

Frog Pond offers Dungeon Masters a flexible, seasonally adaptive location ideal for light-hearted encounters, strange fae, hidden dangers, or amphibious surprises. In Kingmaker’s vast wilderness, even the smallest pond can hold deep secrets.
